GLFW: window & contextGLFW 3.0

glfwGetVersionString

Describes the GLFW library that is actually running: version, platforms and build options.

Signature

const char* glfwGetVersionString(void);

How it works

Handy when a feature such as GLFW_POSITION_X (3.4) does nothing: print this string and check which GLFW your program really linked against. The header you compiled with and the library (.dll / .so) you run with can differ.

A typical result looks like 3.4.0 Win32 WGL Null EGL OSMesa MinGW DLL.

Return value

A static string owned by GLFW. Do not free it. Can be called before glfwInit.

Example

example.cpp
1std::printf("GLFW %s\n", glfwGetVersionString());
